August - This month's birth flowers are the gladiolus and the poppy.
Gladiolus - Symbolically this flower signifies remembrance, calm, integrity and infatuation. Its name comes from Latin's "gladius" meaning "sword" for its sword shaped leaves. Gladiolus indicates that the heart is being "pierced with love".

The Poppy - Another August birth flower. The poppy comes in several different colors, each with their own meaning: RED signifies pleasure; WHITE is given for consolation; YELLOW wishes wealth and success.

If you are interested in sponsoring flowers for the church, please check out the list on the bulletin board in the back of the sanctuary. Pick a special date in honor of someone's birthday or anniversary or in memory of a loved one who has taken the journey home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The week prior to the date you pick, you will receive a call from Sandy Sheets asking for the message you would like to appear in the weekly bulletin for the flowers you are sponsoring.
